Dwarf Surfperch (Micrometrus minimus)

Chordata > Pisces > Actinopterygii > Perciformes > Embiotocidae

Demersal in rocky inshore areas from the intertidal to depths of 10m. Body compressed, silver with greenish-blue reflections; sides with yellow blotches; dorsal, anal, and pelvic fins with dark blotches, and with a dark triangle at the base of the pectoral fins. Length to 6 inches. Baja to Northern California (3) Common; the sixth most commonly recorded fish species from Cabrillo Beach (4) Marine.
