Penpoint Gunnel (Apodichthys flavidus)

Chordata > Pisces > Actinopterygii > Perciformes > Pholidae

Intertidal, demersal. Capable of breathing air. Color variable, ranging from green to yellow to red. Body elongate, with a dark vertical line through eye. Pelvic fins absent; caudal fin rounded; pectoral fin about twice as long as diameter of eye. Length to 18 inches. Santa Barbara Island to Alaska (3). Common (3) Marine.
