Webspinner (Haploembia solieri)

Arthropoda > Insecta > Embiidna > Oligotomidae

Native to the Mediterranean; introduced into the american southwest and into Mexico. Commonly encountered in California and found throughout the state on well-drained grassy slopes with adequate soil and rock cover. In North America this species is completely parthenogenetic and only females occur.
