Briggs` Outer Barklouse (Ectopsocus briggsi)

Arthropoda > Insecta > Psocodea > Psocomorpha > Ectopsocidae

Ectopsocus briggsi is probably one of the most common barklice in our area. Compare, though, to E. californicus which is nearly identical. Several other Ectopsocus occur in the area; adults can often be easily distinguished from one another (except for the two aforementioned species) but nymphs may be more difficult to tell apart. All nymphs on this page are assumed to be E. briggsi as that is the most likely possibility, but it is possible that they are other members of the genus.
