Casebearer Moth (Coleophora sacramenta)

Arthropoda > Insecta > Lepidoptera > Gelechioidea > Coleophoridae

Recorded from Plum and Apple trees in California; note silvery white forewing and dark hindwing. See also C. glaucella which tends to have more highly mottled dark scaling on the forewing and feeds on Manzanita in Southern California.

Many Coleophora sp. have been recorded from Catalina Island though not many have been named, and it's possible the images here could also represent an undescribed species.

Hodges #1255
