Domestic Swan Goose (Anser cygnoides)

Chordata > Aves > Anseriformes > Anatidae

Introduced from East Asia, this is a large-bodied goose that often has a conspicuous knob at the base of the bill. The coloration ranges from gray-brown with a black bill to pure white with an orange bill. May be resident year-round in coastal Southern California, especially at park lakes or lagoons (2).
